DJ Khaled's next big move is to the seat of chairman of Epic Records, according to a Page Six report.

Candidates for this kind of position typically come from more traditionally executive positions but Khaled is said to be actively vying for the role. Page Six has forecasted that Sony Music UK's Jason Iley or RCA's Tom Corson are most likely to get the job.

"He was petitioning to get that job," a source in the report claims. "He's like, 'I make more happen than anyone in the game, why would I not be considered to run the label?'"

While Khaled's business savvy should not be underestimated, running a label as large as Epic is no walk in the park. He'll have to win the loyalty of industry gatekeepers to ensure he whips to get a roster of star acts.

His experience as an executive producer will put him in good stead though. He's proven time and again to have the knack to find the A1 talent to lead a single to No. 1; his most recent effort, I'm the One featuring Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, Chance The Rapper and Quavo.

Whether he's actually after the position or if he'll even get it is anyone's guess at this point.
